Open Days at Saltford Brass Mill
An Ancient Monument and Listed (Grade II*) Building. See how the mill worked and how it survived and into the 21st Century. As well as the now unique annealing furnace and eighteen foot working cast iron water wheel, our informative displays include full-size mock-ups of battery and rolling mill equipment which produced brass "hollow ware" or pots and pans, and brass sheet. Also working scale model water wheels. We tell visitors the story of wire drawing and pin manufacture which lies at the beginning of the industrial revolution and modern manufacturing.
10am-4pm. All ages welcome.
